Thank you Usha. 'Mirror in a mirror' is a very interesting way of looking at it. Newton would have loved your analogy. In optics, the distance between the image and the object is twice as much as the object and the mirror. It is as if the lines are images of each other, a mirage if you will, separated by infinity or eternity.
This is what I would call a mirror in a mirror metaphor :)
